PEI wildlife photographer captures images of ‘spectacular’ rare eagle

A PEI nature and wildlife photographer has captured what he considers the photos of a lifetime after finally catching up with a roaming and very rare eagle. Glen Strikey, who since 2020 has been tracking sightings of the only known Steller’s sea eagle in North America, was able to snap some images of the bird in Spaniards Cove on the east coast of Newfoundland this summer. The BC SPCA invites the public to participate in its 15th annual Wildlife-in-Focus photography contest running May 15 through 31. Amateur photographers 14 years and older can submit their awe-inspiring images of owls, eagles, foxes, bees, whales and other amazing creatures until May 31.
